Scott Leach, a fintech investment professional, exits Aquiline

Scott Leach has left Aquiline Capital Partners after more than five years, two sources said.

Leach, an investment professional at Aquiline, focused on fintech. He joined the middle market firm in June 2014, his LinkedIn profile said. The reason for his exit was not clear, but his departure from Aquiline was recent, one of the people said. Leach is still listed on the Aquiline website.

Leach’s fintech investments include Woven, ClearCourse, OSG Billing, Virtus, Fullstream and Ascensus, his biography said.

Before Aquiline, Leach was a senior associate at Raymond James, where he focused on fintech. He was also an associate at Capstone Partners.

Aquiline invests in middle-market companies in the financial services sector, including banking and credit, insurance, investment management and financial technology and services. The New York firm has been marketing for its latest fund, Buyouts reported in July. Aquiline Financial Services Fund IV LP collected $1.7 billion, a June 14 SEC filing said.

The firm’s prior fund closed on more than $1.1 billion in April 2016, Buyouts said.

Aquiline declined comment.
